Australian Solid Fuel Testing is based in Morwell, Victoria we are a specialist independent testing laboratory focused on testing and approving wood heaters, wood stoves and flue to the Australian Standards for the Australian and New Zealand markets
We are a NATA approved testing company, testing to the AS/NZS2918 and AS/NZS 4012/4013 standards, our testing facilities gives us the ability to test:

Our managing director Steve Marland & laboratory manager Garry W Mooney, have over 25 years experience in the design, modification and testing of solid fuel appliances.

Emissions and Efficiency Testing
At Australian Solid Fuel Testing, we have a purpose built testing rig that gives us the ability to test Particulate emissions and Thermal efficiency testing of solid fuel appliances (AS/NZS 4012/4013) using ASFT’s New integrated particulate emissions, power output and efficiency test rig generally requires:
• Preparation of firewood in accordance with AS/NZS4014.1 (Hardwood).
• 3 high burn cycles plus one pre-burn cycle
• 3 low burn cycles plus one pre-burn cycle
• 3 medium burn cycles plus one pre-burn cycle
• Recording of particulate emissions
• Recording of power outputs and efficiencies
• Preparation of a NATA approved report
• Minor Modification of appliance if required to conform to new standard (Major modifications such as new baffle/firebox dimensions will require the appliance to be modified by the manufacturer)

Thermal Clearance Testing
At Australian Solid Fuel Testing, we have a purpose built testing rig that gives us the ability to test clearance testing to AS/NZS2918 – Appendix B & Appendix E
This purpose built rig has movable walls, lined with sensors to give us temperature reading
